Survey conducted by the Public Employment Service - the Greek Public Employment Service and the Hellenic-American Chambe

The Greek Public Employment Service (D.YP.A. - formerly OAED) has signed with the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, a three-year cooperation memorandum with the common goal of more effectively matching supply and demand in the labor market, specifically the needs of businesses looking for employees with job seekers skills.

The actions foreseen in the memorandum also include the investigation of the demand for specific professional and technical skills, especially in the post-Covid era, so that the Ministry of Interior prepares the appropriate programs and actions through the 50 Apprenticeship Vocational Schools EPAS and 30 Vocational Training Institutes (IEK) that operate nationwide, but also through the training programs to upgrade the skills of the workforce that it has begun to implement with resources from the Recovery and Resilience

Facility In the first phase, the Greek Public Employment Service will design two pilot programs in EPAS, which will respond to the modern demands of businesses, while equipping young candidates with the qualifications they need for a successful career. Since 1952, the Greek Public Employment Service successfully implements the dual education system, which combines parallel 2-year theoretical and laboratory training in the classroom with paid apprenticeships in companies.

In the context of the new pilot action, a survey was designed, addressed to companies which are members of the Chamber and/or the Register of EPAS of the Ministry of Interior and Communications, and consists of two parts, the collection of quantitative data through an electronic questionnaire and the collection of qualitative data through online and/or in-person consultations (focus groups).

We hope that you will positively respond to this effort, which is considered beneficial for all parties involved and will help to address the skills mismatch in the Greek labor market, which is ranked penultimate in the European Skills' Index 2022.

Please take 10 minutes in order to answer the questionnaire.
