Service Unit for Medium and Large Enterprises - Career Days

  • The main role of the Greek Public Employment Service in the modern economic environment of high unemployment is structured on the concept of extroversion and on the basis of the development of successful partnerships with businesses.

  • Purpose - What we want to achieve
      • The Unit was established in 2014, as a proposal of the Organization's Business Model Reorganization Program. As part of its upgrade and adaptation to the current needs of the labor market, as of March 2021 the Unit operates under a new structure and personalized services for large companies, with the purpose of strengthening and improving the matching processes.

        In the context of the strategic extroversion and developing stable relationships with businesses, our goal is to develop a two-way and lasting relationship of cooperation with businesses towards employment and development.

  • Human resources
      • The Unit operates at a staff level in the Administration of the Greek Public Employment Service, as part of the Department of Matching Supply and Demand of Labor & Counseling.

        It operates with 4 management employees and cooperates with the network of unemployed and employer counselors of the 117 regional and local Employment Promotion Centers ( KPA2) of the Greek Public Employment Service, throughout the country.

  • Action - What we offer
      • The Unit's extroverted action is based on the organized development of contacts with large and medium-sized enterprises, as well as with all potential partners/interlocutors of the labor market.

        The Unit undertakes staff selection actions with the implementation of pre-selection plans and the main objective is placement, through a tailor-made mediation process for every company with more than 50 employees.

        Specifically:

        • detailed recording of job vacancies in the company by a specialized consultant
        • investigation of suitable candidates through the network of consultants of Services of the area of interest
        • pre-selection of candidates through personal interviews by specialized consultants
        • continuous information - feed back - sending the pre-selected resumes to the company and cooperation with the relevant HR department of the companies
        • organization of "career days", in which pre-selected candidates participate, with a second interview by specialized consultants and the participation of the HR executives of the company
        • monitoring of final selections and placements – exchange of data and evaluation/debriefing of the process

        • the Greek Public Employment Organisation has an Integrated Information System for registering unemployed and businesses, which currently includes a large number of registered unemployed with high qualifications of all specialties

        • the Greek Public Employment Service has experienced and properly trained consultants in assessment, diagnosis and job search counseling
        • the Greek Public Employment Service has an expanded regional network of 117 Services throughout the country
