Karditsa Open Day

DYPA consistently chooses openness as a major improving factor for the services offered to citizens.

To this end DYPA organises "Open Day" events and this year started from Karditsa and more specifically from the premises of the local DYPA EPAS and IEK.

The event is an excellent opportunity to inform the public and especially young persons, students and their parents about the DYPA EPAS and IEK study programmes as well as the professional opportunities studying with the DYPA schools offer to graduates.

In the EPAS and IEK premises, visitors have the opportunity to discover first-hand what the offered fields of study/ specialties exactly are. Also, with the help of the teaching staff apprentices created suitable presentations which they exhibited on the spot.

In particular, in the Karditsa Open Day participated apprentices from the EPAS studying hairdressing, culinary art, Gas Fuel (Natural Gas) Technician, Electrical Works and Lift Technician, Engine and System Technician for Conventional and Electric Cars.

The event was also attended by IEK students from various fields of study/ specialties such as early childhood educator assistant, Paramedic - Ambulance Crew, Multimedia – Web Designer – Developer, Museum and Archaeological Sites guard.

Visitors also got the chance to learn about the dual apprenticeship system implemented in the DYPA EPAS, that is a scheme combining apprenticeship in actual work places in the morning and theoretical courses in the afternoon in the field of study/ specialty of their choosing.

This integrated approach ensures not only the acquisition of knowledge but also the development of practical skills, thus forming a connection between education and employment.

Furthermore, through these events DYPA highlights the professional prospects offered to graduates of EPAS and IEK that operate throughout Greece.

DYPA develops close partnerships with businesses, which offer apprenticeship posts linked to each field of study/ specialty, thus increasing the opportunities for graduates to find a job but also ensuring their professional development and progress.

The "Open School" events for the DYPA EPAS and IEKs are key for the promotion of vocational education and training, while at the same time highlight the high absorption rates of graduates from the local labour markets, contributing at the same time to the development of the economy.
